What Is a Death Doula?
A Death Doula, also known as an End-of-Life Doula, is a non-medical professional who provides emotional, spiritual, logistical, and practical support to individuals and families as they navigate the sacred transition of death. Much like a birth doula supports the arrival of life, a death doula gently holds space for its departure — helping to bring comfort, clarity, dignity, and intention to the dying process.
Death is not a medical event alone — it is a spiritual, emotional, and often ancestral rite of passage. As a Death Doula, I honor this threshold by creating supportive environments for conscious dying, healing conversations, and legacy-building rituals.

Vigil planning and sacred space creation
Ritual and memorial preparation
2. Companionship for the Dying
Nonjudgmental emotional presence
Guided breathing, affirmations, and calming practices

Holding space for fear, forgiveness, and closure

Respite care and compassionate listening

Rituals for honoring lineage and ancestors
